Super Easy Smothered Chicken

The quicker and easier the ingredients, the more likely I’ll try it!


No, seriously, the recipe below is super quick to prep before going into the oven.

  1. Pack if chicken (no more than 6-8 pieces)

  2. pack of onion soup mix

  3. can of cream of chicken soup mix

  4. one cup of water

  5. one Tbs of cornstarch (if your cream of chicken is very liquid)

  6. salt

  7. pepper

  8. seasoning salt

  9. parsley (optional)

  10. baking pan


  1. preheat oven to 375 degrees

  2. wash your chicken pieces and place in baking pan (I have mine lined with aluminum foil)

  3. season both sides of chicken with salt, pepper and season salt

  4. in a separate mixing bowl, combine 1 can of cream of chicken, one cup of water and onion soup mix and stir with a fork until well blended (if your cream of chicken is in more of a liquid form add one tbs of cornstarch to the 1 cup of water as I did in the video below)

  5. pour over chicken in the pan

  6. season top with black pepper

  7. top pan with lid (if you have one) or aluminum foil

  8. place in oven towards middle of oven for 1 hour

  9. after 1 hour, take aluminum foil off, coat chicken with sauce and place back in oven for 25 minutes

  10. after 25 minutes, take pan out of oven

  11. you can garnish with parsley
